A Wake up to Make-up!!
Beautifully defined brows by Semi-permanent make-up expert Judith Mulgrew
There’s no doubt about it, us ladies love our brows and we will go to all lengths to correct and perfect them!! But as much as good brows can work wonders, over-tweezed and sparse brows can be aging and unflattering. For any of us who succumbed to the 90s brow trends and plucked our brows to the high heavens, we know how hard it is to achieve the regrowth needed for perfect brows! Even as I’ve gotten a little older I notice a huge difference with my brows, they don’t grow quite as well as they used to and for years I pencilled and powdered them constantly to fill in the gaps!
A good brow shape and tint will open our eyes, compliment our features and frame our face beautifully! I’ve had ladies who have even commented that they’ve been told they look years younger after having their brows properly attended to!
Several years ago I was introduced to Semi-permanent makeup and since then I can honestly say that I have never looked back!! It give me the perfect natural completed finish that I have always desired. Today I can do my make-up in half the time and the days of worrying over smudged brows are long gone.
This state of the art procedure involves implanting pigment into the dermal layer of the skin – a little like a tattoo but without the pain! It is suitable for eyebrows, eyeliner, lip colour and beauty spots! A favourite with celebrities such as Rosanna Davidson and Michelle Keegan, they are the perfect treatment for those suffering from sparse or thinning brows, clients suffering alopecia, or those who have suffered permanent hair reduction following medical treatments. Equally they are fantastic for those of us who are on the go – as a busy mummy myself my semi-permanent eyebrows and eyeliner keep me looking fresh no matter what! We all want to look our best naturally, and what could be better than enjoying perfectly shaped brows, beautifully full lips and wide awake eyes without the hassle of applying make-up!
I trained with the prestigious Finishing Touches academy, and to date have carried out the procedure on over 800 clients! Your treatment begins with a full consultation, during which I discuss the shape, colour and the finish you wish to achieve. My signature brows include thin brush strokes which create the illusion of fine hairs and create a totally natural finish. Or if your looking a 3d effect or block finish you can opt to have the nano or ombre brow finish. Treatment time is approximately 1 1/2 hours and a top-up treatment is recommended 6-8 weeks later to ensure the pigment is fully implanted.
Permanent make-up will fade gradually over the course of 3-5 years, depending on your lifestyle, skin, and sun exposure. I recommend having a top-up every 12-18 months to keep the colour looking its best! I carry out the treatment in our sterile clinic environment, so you can be assured that you are in the safest hands!

Q and A
What does the treatment entail?
You should allow a minimum of 1.5 hours for a new procedure, after this initial treatment, a top-up procedure needs to be done 4-6 weeks later; this allows the pigment to stay in the skin and takes approximately 1 hour to complete.
How long will the make-up last?
The colour remains visible for several years. This is variable from 3-5 years depending on the client’s age, skin type, colour choice and lifestyle.
Do I have a choice on placement and colour?
Yes, the client is in control every step of the way from desired shape to colour selection, and always aided by myself.
What happens after the procedure?
Immediately post procedure the area may appear swollen and the colour will appear darker and more intense. This will last for several days. Compete healing can take up to six weeks for the pigment to mature in the skin and the true colour to emerge.
